Description: Berlin has become a very fertile ecosystem for start-ups. Its constituting elements are certainly the attractiveness of the city for young talents, the abundance of universities and research institutes, the comparably low cost of living, its efficient infrastructure, the networks for tech companies – and, last but not least, the availability of consultancy, finance and venture capital which, amongst others, the local public sector development bank, Investitionsbank Berlin, provides with its financing partners. The Bank helps to close funding gaps by risk sharing schemes and thus serves as a catalyst for additional finance and venture capital for young companies based in Berlin. Speaker: Dr. Matthias von Bismarck-Osten, IBB
